Reconnecting An extended family during the covid years

“Happy Together” was a project created over the covid years. The situation of covid has affected everyone across the world from various cultures, countries and backgrounds in various ways. From affecting us over months to years. From affecting our health and mental wellbeing to our families and friendships.

Coming from a close-knit extended family from Hong Kong where big and loud family gatherings are a common affair, the covid years brought that to an abrupt halt. Longing for these moments, I decided to create a book where we celebrated our family whilst giving my relatives an opportunity to fill in a page to share any thoughts in any form they wanted to.

Each relatives received a book and a poster. This project was printed in 2-colour risograph.

《家有囍事》是在新冠疫情期間完成的作品，這場疫情波及到了世界各地的人們，從對我們身心產生影響，到影響我們全部的社會關係。

我來自一個香港大家族，成員之間聯繫緊密，喧鬧的聚會也是家庭的常態。但在疫情期間，我們不得不取消這樣的活動。由於疫情期間嚴格的出入境管理，在創作此書的2020-2022年間，我曾有三年沒有見到我的家人們，因此十分想念他們。

我決定做一本書送給大家族的成員，並給他們一個互相傳遞信息的載體。一本書籍搭配一張海報，每個家庭都收到了一份。
